Schickedanz is taking applications for career opportunities as a Carpenter. You will be involved in all areas of the construction process. Demolition, layout, framing, installation of door and window frames, both wood and metal. Installations of cabinetry and all trim work, installing door hardware and bathroom accessories. The list is endless and the work changes every day! We are looking for people with a diverse mechanical mindset who are willing and want to learn new skills. This position of Carpenter is also responsible for working with others to construct various projects in a team-oriented environment. The goals of the team never vary; safety, quality, and timeliness. Schickedanz carpenters are reliable, exacting, safe professionals who exceed our customer’s expectations every time.
What We're Looking For:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability necessary to succeed in this role.
High school diploma.
Proven hands-on experience as a Carpenter.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.
Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
Excellent understanding of techniques and methods
Knowledge of hand-held and power tools.
Compliance with local building codes, health and safety regulations.
Provide excellent customer service.
Good understanding of basic math.
Good physical condition. The ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Superintendents are expected to report to the jobsite. Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noises, and more within OSHA standards. Employees may be exposed to outdoor conditions that include inclement weather such as heat, humidity, cold, wind, and dust. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, stand for long periods of time, walk for moderate-to-long distances on varying surface conditions, climb, crawl, crouch, reach, grip, push, and pull without issue. Must possess adequate communicative, auditory, and visual capabilities to avoid safety hazards and help others do the same.
